Basketball – The Game
A maximum of 15 players are allowed per side and a maximum of 5 players per side can play at a time. That makes it a total count of 10 players in the game at a time. The game in its inception days was rougher than what it is today and was a full contact game. However safe sports’ laws and regulations have trimmed it down to being just a ‘contact’ sport and any form apparent or unusual body contact in the game is termed a ‘foul’. It is really on faced paced and interesting game as the tallest people on earth battle it out to win the game!
The Uniform and Most Importantly, the Socks!
The basketball uniform is considered to be quite a ‘hip’ dress when you take loose vest t-shits and loose pants that hang down up to the knees. Unlike other games, the shorts are not that ‘short’ and neither is tight! The dress is kept loose deliberately so that free movement of the body can happen and the players can jump to astounding heights! Speaking about the dress in the game, the clothing material has to be really light and flexible. Cotton clothing is generally not used as it can get heavier with sweat. But a synthetic material is used which allows good aeration as well as good sweat absorption and faster sweat evaporation rates from the body.
The only thing that is perhaps made of cotton in the clothing is the socks. The socks are generally ankle length though some players also wear crew length socks. But unlike football where tube socks or calf length socks are the order of the day, in basketball socks are sufficient till the ankle length only.
